Post subject:  Long Time Friend

Have a girl that I have been seeing on a friends basis for at least four years. Want to change that.

What can be said? She and I know each other quite well, consider each other to be our best friends and go above and beyond normal friendship behaviors for each other. I see her on average three to four times a week, sometimes alone, sometimes in the company of our mutual group of friends. She helps me with women, I help her with guys.

She is an American in Paris, just like me.

She has a complicated history. Her ex is a good friend of mine. She is constantly bouncing between jobs. Her visa may expire soon. She's a bit lost at times.

How do I kick it out of the friend zone after this long without destroying the friendship or ruining my chances at something more with her?

The relationship with her has evolved to a point where I want more than just the friendship...

Well, it may be too late, that's the first thing you have to keep in mind. And also that if you decide to go ahead with it, you may lose her friendship (or at least it won't probably be the same) if she says no, and you may lose your friend's (her ex) friendship if she says yes.

It's easy to say from the outside, but if I were you, I'd go for it. If you don't, you won't ever stop wondering "what if", and it will be hard to move on.

I'm not an expert at all. In fact I'm probably the last one that should be giving you advice, but it's for you to decide if you wanna take it or not. I'd say it's probably too late to game her the way you would game a stranger, it would be awkward. She already knows if you are an alpha male or not, a nice guy or a cocky one, a funny guy... Instead, I would just go direct and sincere, and hope she feels the same way. And if she doesn't, don't take it personally, and move on.

It's just what I think
