| Post subject: | How to create a great story from any experience? |
I'm working with a girl that is pretty cute but realistically nothing is ever going to happen since we are in different continents. Still, I said it's worth trying to game for exercise. I made her laugh a couple of times but I've not been able to DHV. It was her, I, and another guy on a call not talking, waiting for some other people to join when I realized it was a good opportunity for an interesting story. In the previous weekend I went clubbing for the first time in 6 years. Thought it was an interesting subject and didn't think ahead of what I was going to say. In the end I just blurted something non-sensical like how I went to a club and there were only 16 year olds and how where I'm from everyone goes clubbing at 12am and I was already sleepy at that time. Everybody stayed silent. So my question is: when storytelling an experience what should I focus on? I could have told her how I talked to a crazy girl who thought I had an inferiority complex (old acquintance) and told me if she had to choose between me and my father (who is 70 years old but a player) she would choose me. It was a weird experience but I'm not sure it provides any value or help me in any way. How do you choose what part of an experience to turn into a story? |

Im kind of working on this area too at the moment and it is strongly connected with 'creating rapport' I think when it comes to sharing stories one should always start from the beginning and avoid jumping to the point too quickly, also avoid talking too fast and maintain good eye contact with everyone listening, move your hands around too. You can always try finding a good story-teller or comedian/actor who's also good at it, watch how he does it and practice yourself at home in front of a mirror until it becomes natural |

When it comes to Storytelling/DHVs... i recommend talking slower with a deeper voice ... seriously.. and you cant talk about ANYTHING As long as you're enthusiastic /passionate about what you're speaking .. however make it interesting as well... and dont forget to add some embedded DHV spikes... like "my ex gf" which is Pre-selection... etc. |

Also, appeal to the sensual side of women by adding in as much description as you can. When describing things. Add pauses to peak curiosity. Ask some rhetorical questions and make it seem like you want an answer, this is a good way to build a yes ladder as well. In the end, tell the story to a few different people in order to see what points you can make more exciting or the points where people will laugh (add pause, build tension right before) |
