Post subject:  A girl mentions her boyfriend from time to time
A girl I know mentions her boyfriend from time to time, what does it mean? For example, today she mentioned her boyfriend once. I told her that I rarely drank, and she replied, "You are like my boyfriend.". What does it signal?

Probably friendship. She sees you as her boyfriend, minus the commitment. Therefore she may be interested in you but will probably use you as the friend to lean on when she's having issues with her boyfriend. Could go well, just push and pull her away from you so you don't get completely friend zoned.

It sounds like she likes your characteristics which resemble her bf. But your not. Therefore, you can try the bf destroyer technique, if you want to try to get with her and you really like her.

It might mean that, well, she may actually have a boyfriend. It definitely means she wants you to think she has a boyfriend. Girls interject the boyfriend on purpose, and it is virtually never to be interpreted as a positive. What it means is that she wants you to think she has a boyfriend to send a message she is at the moment likely not interested in a romantic connection. Doesn't mean you cannot salvage this situation. Read up on techniques for this situation, or an easier approach, pick up a girl who is single.
