Got to disagree here. You don't have to say it in a negative way. It is the way you say it that determines that you are joking. And if you kino after you say it, she will be able to determine that you are just teasing.

Alternatively, you can just say something like "Yeah, and I am way too short" - which isn't true as I am 6'3.

Or you could just give her some positive reinformcement and take it back with a neg. A girl earlier told me she needs to lose weight. I told her that she didn't, but she should probably focus on her hair style first.
