I was wondering, if it is even necessary to have to maintain alpha when comforting during a loss? Or is this actually a good time for that?

Girl has recently lost someone very close to her, everything else is coming along good. Great actually, but I dont want to seem to sensitive or look like some pussy. Also, I dont want to be pushy in anyway during this time. Obviously her situation comes first. Any suggestions?

I think the best way would be to distract her as much as possible from the loss, if you can make her smile when she's having a hard time that's a big plus!

Also, give a bit more background information, e.g. how well do you know her.

Developing alpha characteristics isn't something you turn on and off. Here's how you handle this kind of thing. In most cases, you're first goal should be to attempt to make her laugh and take her mind off of her loss. It is always good to be a girl's vacation from her problems. On the other hand, if she is specifically seeking you out for comfort, then keep your mouth shut, hold her in your arms and pet her.
