It's her preference to be friends with someone before getting into a relationship first. I've known her for 6-7 years. It's been a year and a half since her and I spoke, and now we're friends again. There were feelings on both ends in the past, but I had poor skills and she had a bf.

Now, she's single, and I feel like I have a chance if I approach it the right way. We have arranged to go out to a good sushi restaurant soon, and that's my opportunity, I believe, to create the right SPAM or do and say the right things to build up towards requesting a relationship. I'd imagine she currently sees this as a friend hangout, and doesn't know I like her.

I'm posting here for any ideas on how I can turn the friendship into attraction, or on how to approach asking her into a relationship. I've been talking to her about what types of things she wants in a relationship, casually, so I can display those traits when we chill in hopes that she sees what she wants to be with.

Any ideas? any more information required?
