Eventually, it seems, that in every set I get into, even while most of what I am saying are interesting statements they can follow up on, the girls always start asking me the same kinds of questions I used to ask before I started getting into this.

Stuff like, what do you do, how old are you, do you like this and that, how old are you etc.

I have a few responses bouncing around in my head, but am trying to come up with stuff that's a bit more me.

What do you guys say in these instances?

I usually avoid those kinds of questions by answering them, and start talking about something else. I truly hate the "interview" part where the conversation builds around short answered questions, so I just steer the conversation the way I want it to go.

I deal with this by giving crazy answers:

eg.
What do you do?

I'm a professional heart-breaker so stop hitting on me!

or

I'm a prolific serial killer and I'm looking for my next victim to add to my collection down my well.

How old are you?

How old do you think I am? Try and guess... (DHV / cat-string) - Then tease her if she gets it wrong:

eg 1. [if she is older than you] Jeez, you're old enough to by my mother...

eg 2. [if she is younger than you] It's never gonna work between us, I'm old enough to be your daddy...
