Post subject:  Confused about mid-game

This is kind of a two part question that is also one question.

Let's say you approach a girl/end up talking to a girl. Things go well and you have a nice conversation or whatever. How should I act after the opener?

Say this is at a house party or something. There are lots of people there, and lots of guys trying to hit on all the same girls. After I've done my thing with a girl, should I
A: Try to stick around her and occupy the set as much as possible (possible AFC move. Also it's possible I've run out of things to talk about at this point.)
or
B: Walk off and start talking to other people (possible DHV) and risk losing her to another guy?

I never really know what to do in this situation. Because two people talking WILL run out of things to talk about, and at a party the normal thing to do is to bounce around talking to different people. But at the same time, I don't want to lose her, which has happened to me many times. This question also applies to other situations- the cafeteria, lecture hall hallways, etc.

Question 2:
I sometimes get odd results for social circle mid game. Meaning, everything goes well the first time I meet a girl, but when I see her after that she seems distant and uninterested when I try to talk to her. What changed, and is there something I can do about this?

Your goal should really be to intrigue her enough that you can ask her to come somewhere more quiet, just you two.
