Actually, he does have traces of a canadian accent. Listen closely when he says "about" :)

He does have a tinge of the accent, but I pick up on it because I lived in Michigan for a while. But remember, he worked very hard on his voice and tonality. He emulates the speech patterns of Tony Robbins.

Neither does Tyler Durden. I was kinda wondering that myself. But then again I assume it must be like a regional thing. Every now and then I catch Degrassi reruns, and none of them have Canadian accents. The rapper Drake was on Degrassi and is a Canadian, but he doesn't have any accent either.

Maybe we're just overestimating how apparent a Canadian accent really is. Maybe what we think of as a Canadian accent is just a characterization and a skewed stereotype, and the reality is much more mild than we think.

Yes he does.

It's VERY noticeable when he says "understand." He says "anderstand."

mystery grew up in ontario. The canadian accent that you speak of is generally found in the more eastern provinces like nova scotia and p.e.i. it would be more likely that he would have a french accent or an american accent.

Being Canadian myself, and having spent a week with Americans in October, I can say that I also have a pretty American accent. It really depends on where you're from in Canada; the Maritimes have a pretty distinct set of accents (for instance, Newfoundland has a different accent from Nova Scotia, but it takes a trained ear to hear it). British Columbia has an accent not entirely different from the United States west coast. Albertans sound something like people from the Southern States.

To say there's a "Canadian" accent is like saying there's an "American" accent. We have a range of accents, just like the U.S., and many of them aren't noticeably different from the American accents we hear on TV every day.

Well that makes a lot of sense. I don't know why none of us assumed that Canadians had distinct accents and dialects within their own country. Thanks for setting us straight.

I'm from Canada and have been to the states many times and have never been called out for having a "Canadian accent" and I've lived in Canada for all 19 years of my life. I think it's just a stereotype to say that Canadians have accents, I've only heard someone say "aboot" when an American is mocking a Canadian accent.

I've got Canadian relatives and they have a noticeable accent-just in few words that is. But who cares.

I mean, perhaps Myster just says that he's Canadian to appear exotic to American girls(lol). It shows that he's well travelled-a DHV(lol). So whether he's Canadian or not,it would definitely help him in set.
