Post subject:  Theory about the PUA Show

OK, I have a crazy theory about the show.

Do you notice every season Mystery plants the good looking guy
the actor/model aka Brody and Greg? I was thinking about this and
I noticed the same pattern with both of them. Through out the
beginning of the show both of them used there looks to get through
the early rounds but were always in the bottom ranks..
THEN all the sudden they start using the material that Mystery is
preaching and they become one of the best on the show. They make it to the end but end up getting beat by a regular AFC.

Now here my theory, I think Mystery does this on purpose. He shows the
good looking guy get by like he does in real life, but until he really starts
putting in effort he never goes to that next level. In doing this he shows
the "good looking" guys out there they need his stuff too. BUT in the end he has an AFC winning over them because if a "good looking" guy won
the show a lot of AFCs would of be discouraged. So in doing this he keeps
his "main audience" (AFCs) happy and also shows "good looking" guys they need him too

Yes, it sounds crazy but it would actually be a brilliant business move on
Mysterys part, and lets face it most the MPUA Gurus are about the money.

Ok, Wondering what you think about this

True, but then that makes him human.

Bottom line: neither Greg nor Matt should have gotten this far as both have been given the benefit of the doubt sooooooo many f'n times it's redic.

maybe is true, but if they lose against some1 else at the finals, their opponent will no longer be considered an AFC at that time.

I see it as a was to encourage people how might be unsure about their looks, because ultimately it doesn't matter

A wing of mine is very good looking, like he could possibly do modelling if he so wished, but then another wing of mine is short, fat and not very good looking.......you can see where I am going with this, the good looking wing is nowhere near as good gaming as the other wing is, he may not hit as much resistance in the first 10 seconds because of his looks but after that it is all down to their games.

You care, since you obviously took time out of your day
to come here and make that pointless post

Having flirted with media studies during my education I can confirm that a lot of shows like this are staged (as you can tell I learnt SOOO much :P). However also like similar shows the audience (us and others) can also gain and be thoroughly enterteined throughout. For example material and approaches throughout the show have been taught or influenced at least by Mystery. From this we can either borrow some canned material or see the patterns in the evolution of the "contestants" and then from this make our own systems and routines that work for us. Ultimately its win-win, the shnow gets high audiences we get the smug feeling that we didnt completely waste our time watching another reality show, such as.....dare I say it.......Big Brother :P oooow I shiver in pain.

Spark.
