| Post subject: | Birthday Party! |
Hey! I'm not very good at being subtle or tactful, but I have an upcoming birthday party and I'd much prefer it if my girlfriend wasn't there, simply because she doesn't know any of my friends, and I feel like I would have to "babysit" her throughout it, she also despises rude and crude humour which is basically going to be the theme of the evening, as with any outing with my friends. Basically I don't want to be sober and restrained at my own damn party! But how to I communicate this to her nicely? Thanks |

Quote: Hey!
Basicaly you could say to her: " Im going with friends for my birthday. There is a lot of people you won't know and honestly I expect to be in the mood to party so chances are I won't be there to introduce you to them. There will be plenty of crude and rude humor there, that's how my friends and me are. Do you want to go?" Also plan something with her for your birthday. To ballance it out. |

Thanks, that's a really good idea, tell her how it's going to be and get her to make the decision not to go, I love it! Yeah good idea aswell doing something separate with her, cheers mate |

I'm not saying that she will automaticaly decide not to go. She might want to go regardless. But if that happens she knows what to expect and you have a green light to have fun the way you intend with your buddies. Heck, if it's your core personality it may be time for her to learn that side of you. If you want some sort of serious relation that is... |
