We haven't been dating very long but due to circumstances we've been a long distance apart for the last couple of weeks.
The first few weeks went smooth, talked on and off through SPAM, not that often but quite decent conversations.

But a couple of weeks ago we hit our first rough patch when a conversation went badly and it got even worse the week after when thing went bad again.
Its not that we fought but she is going through an emotional period (death of family member, etc...) and I wanted to support her by talking about how she was feeling. Lesson learned: this is only possible in real life!

We ended up saying we'd better not talk any more on SPAM (I dont know if we even said "for a while" and I'm afraid calling was also implied). - don't know why I agreed on it but I was temporarily shocked
Now I don't mind not talking for a while and only sending the occasional sms, I have a busy life and won't do anything to jeopardize the relationship. But a couple of days ago I felt I wanted to call her.
Didn't think whether it would be good or bad, just a simple call, however she didn't pick up.
When she didn't pick up I didn't mind so much since that happened before, people are generally busy.
However before she used to call or text me back within minutes.

However this was 4 days ago and since then I haven't heard anything nor received anything.

I don't want to be needy, however I don't want to lose this girl without a fight.
Soon I'll return from my trip but I'd like to have talked and smoothed things out so I know everything is fine when I get back.

Any advice? Call? SMS? Just wait?

Just a few questions:
- what is the long distance ?
- when will you see each other properly ? Which means that you can begin to see each other on a daily basis
- before this turned into long distance how long have you been together ?
- sex etc. are these things ok between you ?
- how old are you and the girl ?

If you see her in a week, and she stays then just wait for her to contact you. And if she doesn't then contact her to meet up when she is back.

That's it nothing else. If she likes you then she will contact you to catch up sooner anyway.

I'm not going to say you are in a very good situation but this is the best you can do. Get busy with your life.
