Hello all I've been with my better half for four years. I acquired her a ring 5 months prior and STILL have not given it to her in light of the fact that I can't think about a great, remarkable proposal idea. Does anybody have any distinctive ideas to offer? |

4 years? and the relationship is still awesome? Okay, I'll give you that. You've read the forums, so hopefully you know what you're getting yourself into. Here's one idea a friend of mine did. He went to one of those pottery places and made a plate with "Will you marry me?" printed on it. Then he took her out to a nice restaurant and had it arranged so that the waiter brought out the dessert on the plate. It's creative and the girl liked it. -Wolf |

Not to discourage you from really going the extra mile, but do you do extra special shit for her all the time? The thought occurs to me that jumping through a burning ring of fire when proposing gives the impression that taking the relationship to the next level could mean, to some women, that you'll do dancing acts on your head for all time for her if she says yes. The plate idea is creative, but still would make me wary. I'd opt for something that illustrates what she gets, something you'll maintain with ease. Propose in a format or environment that you're familiar with as it will help you be comfortable. Again, it's just me, but I'd go with something with less fireworks and more intimacy than something that creates images in her mind of you bending over backwards planning for months how to say good morning to her every day. In summary, propose in a way that reflects who you are and what you expect from the marriage. |

I'd also stress making it personal over advertising for the masses. I cringe anytime I see a proposal at a game or recently, I saw a guy arrange a flash mob to pop the question. Of course, if that's what you're into, knock yourself out! |
