Post subject:  Lapsing into post-breakup pain?

hey guys! So ill cut to the chase. I broke up with my gf a month or so ago and felt really positive about it. She left for college, I stayed home and so we don't see each other anymore in person. I've been with several women since then, but honestly I'm starting to feel really shitty. It seems as if I lapse into really missing her and regretting the whole thing. Is this normal? Even after a month and being with other women along with being so certain it was what I wanted.

It's interesting to go back my posts here and how I used to be so worried about keeping her, then I felt like I could care less, and now I feel like i want her back. I most certainly have no plans to reinstate contact or try to get her back but I get so pissed when I think about her banging other guys even though I see other women!!

Wtf do I do? Truthfully all I want is to not care about her anymore/ not think about her whenever I see a fuckin movie we watched or a song we liked its nuts!!. I get a horrible anxiety feeling if I look at pictures of us and I don't even dare go on social network sites because I don't want to see anything.

Could use some help, I feel like the random lays help a bit, but I hate having this damn problem. I thought I didn't love her anymore but maybe I fucked up, so suggestions on how to "forgive and forget" a little faster? Thanks all

It's very normal to have regrets, it's the fear of not having that safety net to fall back on. It will pass as you move forward.

Someday, someone will walk into your life and make you realize why it never worked out with anyone else.

Dedicate yourself to the good you deserve and desire for yourself. Give yourself peace of mind. You deserve to be happy. You are the prize.

Find a girl that gives you that.

Get more girls!

I often find (and am finding with my recent break up) that we focus so hard on moving on and being ok with it and it's not always the solution in my opinion. I think you need to hurt for a while, accept that you're going to hurt and then take care of yourself for the duration of that period. Try to separate what your emotional mind might be trying to get you to do such as text her, email her, check her facebook or whatever and respond to things as best you can using clear thinking and logic.

Maybe you just asked too much of yourself to be fine with it so quickly and now it's all catching up? It's normal bro. It's unpleasant and difficult, but like so many things in life it's transient and there is an end to it. You are going to feel shit for a while, just ride the wave.

I think everybody has been where you are. I'm still there sometimes, but I think you'll find as time goes by, when this feeling hits, it will be less intense, last not as long, etc.

The one thing you gotta remember when these things hit is that at one point in time, you WERE SURE. Think about what made you so sure then.

I actually found that when I missed my gf the most was when I was horniest. I wanted to fuck, right then and right there, and without her, I'd have to invest some effort in someone else. I missed that convenience. But like the other guys here said, you are the prize. You can have whatever you want, and there were times when you didn't want her. Something put that feeling in your head. What was it?

Trust us all when we say, sometimes it doesn't feel like it, but there are othe women who will turn you on, stimulate you, or pique your interest just as much as the one you're missing. But you will have a hard time finding them or attracting them if you're depressed missing the last one you had. Nothing kills a heartbreak like a new love.

This is a great post. I wish I had read it way back when I was going through tougher times.
