Post subject:  When breaking up..
If you were to break up with your loving and caring sensitive girlfriend and you also had a good connection with her family, how would you end it on good terms?

It's just not working out for me, I'm her first love syndrome, she's crazy in love with me. I still care about her and love her, I can't break her heart but I'm sure she's still going to be heartbroken no matter how I break up. Any advice guys?

My keyboard-jockey response (first thing that popped in my head when I read your question, take it with a grain of salt):

Just tell her that you love her, but that you seriously want an open relationship. Calmly explain that you've always wanted one and that you've made your decision. Tell her that this is really important to you and that you don't really see yourself ever being monogamous for anyone.

She'll dump you or she'll be cool with you sleeping with other girls. Either way, you win. :D

Thanks for the reply but I don't know, that doesn't seem right. I don't want her thinking I'm doing whatever I'm doing because I want to chase other girls, I just realized that I'm not ready for a relationship. Now, I'm taking her out tonight for dinner because of Valentine's day, I'm not going to break up with her yet, I'm just going to talk to her about it and see what we can work out but I was wondering if I should put any effort to make this Valentine's special for her? We've been going out for 5 months now, she's the perfect girlfriend so she deserves the best but I'm scared I'll get her to fall even harder for me.
