Like many others, I discovered this community after reading Neil Strauss's "The Game". I read it in January, and then I followed that by reading Robert Greene's "The Concise Art of Seduction". Afterward, I paused for about a month, trying to decide if this was something I really wanted to get into. I've come to the conclusion that it is. I'm in my early 30's and I've tried my hand at many different careers. I'm still looking for one that truly fits me. As far as women go, I've had a few awkward successes in the past, and after reading some of the PUA community material, I'm finally starting to understand why certain things worked out back then. With some practice and luck, hopefully I will learn to be able to consistently be successful. I'll put it out there that I'm not interested in sleeping with lots of women. I admit that there are times when it would be really nice to just get laid and have that physical intimacy, but that is not my ultimate goal. What I really want is to develop the courage and comfort to approach anyone cold and to make a real and deep connection with people. Moreover, when I do finally meet a woman that I want to be in a relationship with, I want to feel like I can be a fully confident lover and partner. It's been many years since I've dated as I've been focusing on other things, so I've been getting off to a pretty rough start. I suppose it's like trying to crank a car that's been sitting in the driveway for a long time. Lately, I've just focused on trying to speak to women that I see when I'm out and about. At this point, just saying something, anything, is a start. |
