| Post subject: | Generic Introduction Thread Title |
Hey guys and girls. I am usually poor at introducing myself on forums even when I consider myself rather authorititive on the subject matter. So an introduction thread in which I expose my weaknesses as opposed to bragging about my strengths was always going to be difficult so I'll keep it basic. I'm eighteen years old. I'm from Glasgow. And I've bee aware of the pickup community for about eight or nine months now. I've read two books on the matter and watched a few videos. I haven't actually tried to put anything in to practice. I think this could partly be because of the lack of support figures I have to help me with it. Listening to intsructors' videos is all well and good for getting techniques but in terms of real support going forward - I feel you need contact with people. My current group of friends aren't very helpful in this area. Two of my friends are what I would describe as 'poor naturals.' They get results, they don't know why and it's more by luck than judgement. They haven't actually studied how to do anything and they get SOME results based on the natural advantages they were born with. So I can't really learn much from watching those guys. My other friend is pretty much the same as me. He can't achieve results and never has. I think he would be an ideal 'training paretner' to try and do some of this stuff with me. The issue is that he is apprehensive about it, he is one of those guys looking for the so called magic pill. Almost as though he's accepting of his poor results or that he expects attraction to come along one day, maybe when he has money. I know I've actually rambled on more than I lead you to believe I would but basically in response to this I would very much appreciate anything I could do to help convince my third friend to try some of this stuff. Is it going to be a case of trying some of it solo and convincing him off the back of my own results? Thanks for reading that textual wall and I hope I can add something to the community. |
