After 2 horrifying years.. What is wrong with me??? Anyhow, I joined today as a long time lurker and typically (during my two year relationship) had no use for PUA techniques.

Well I'm one month single and a bouncer at one of the hottest lounges in the city. Although I was in this job while dating my ex I never even considered what lay ahead (after the breakup) because guess what? I was 100% faithful ::pats self on back:: Which is a compliment to our gender considering the circumstances.

Anyhow, one whole week after the conclusion of a pretty tough breakup things are back in full swing. I'm standing in VIP already with one girl on my hip, suit/tie, and an old crush of mine from high school walks up to me. In high school we might have said two words to each other but I guess she felt compelled to approach because we're about an hour away from home, and it's a familiar face. We chat, the regular sh*t after not seeing a person for 6 yrs and I'll tell you this much, I'm not an ugly guy so this comes from a reliable source; this girl is a perfect 10, even without make-up.

I play it cool, for about 2 minutes and her friend (a friend/mutual coworker) calls her over so she excuses herself. I don't see her for the rest of the evening and I'm all like "Sh*t, should have gotten her num but whatever." (remembering friend/mutual coworker).

Very next day, not missing a beat she adds me on fb, message says:

Her: "It was really great seeing you last night (insert number). text me ;)"

I wait a couple hours until I get off and text her:

Me: "now you have my num"
Her: "Damn, take you long enough."

Fast forward -- a whole week long of her texting "good morning" "good night" and some misc. sh*t in between.

I decide it's time to ask her out after telling me she was free on sat so I say "so we're on for sat?" no reply.... for a whole week.

She texts me "how are you" about a week ago. I text back "who is this?" she states her name and I don't reply. Later that night our mutual friend/coworker calls me over to the bar and says:

Mutual friend: "____ said you never texted her back today."
Me: (fumbling, purposely of course) "Uhm yea, I lost all my contacts."
Her: "uh huh yea right..."
Me: "And as a matter of fact, I believe she was the one that was ignoring me."

Fast forward next day. I text her:

Me: "Sorry mixed signals confuse me"
Her: "I wasn't trying to send mixed signals"

This is basically where we stand now.

Help??!

Btw it may sound like I over reacted to her not replying to my invitation on Saturday. But the misc. conversation we had been having all week were definitely indicative that it was the next step (real cute, real intimate)... So yes, a mixed signal.

Dunno maybe you need to take the lead over her a bit more and bypass the guessing game and control whats going to happen next.

How so? I have already gone out on a limb with this girl. I'm no slouch in the dating game, I've just been dormant. And like I said I'm a good looking guy and honestly taking control of this girl might be counter productive. On top of that I just got out of a two year relationship. Control is the last thing I wanna do. On top of that please try to understand that this girl is a perfect 10, no question. I think "taking control" might be typical. No?

leading is attractive, perhaps not taking control...just be confident where you're planning on going with things, otherwise you may be the one sending mixed signals
