Post subject:  Hey what's up? 18 year old College student looking to change

Hello, I am, as stated in the title, an 18 year old college student. I am a virgin (no, not because I am saving myself for marriage, but because I suck with women). I have been a quiet and timid person for a huge chunk of my life (in fact, I do not recall myself as ever being outgoing). I do not have many (if any) friends nor much of a social life (though at least now in college I've been going to more parties, but they have all been failures when it comes to picking up women or having fun in general). I know a little bit of PUA stuff (I've seen VH1's the pick up artist, Keys to the Vip, watched some lectures made by mystery on youtube, and I have read 3/4ths of "The Game" by Neil Strauss. Couldn't finish the whole thing because I had to return the book to the library before being overdue).

So hopefully I'll be able to change several aspects of my life by being a member of these boards, and develop into a more confident, outgoing person, while at the same time, being able to pick up the women that I like.

BTW, I enjoy reading books, so feel free to recommend me any books that can help me with PUA, confidence, or life in general. Right now I am reading Tony Robbin's "Awaken the Giant within"

hey man,
sounds like ur going through what I am going through.
I just turned 19 and Im in the first year of uni.
I go to parties and it seems that all I wanna do is talk to attractive girls,
rather than talking to girls who seem interested...
don't you?
Yea, that's great you are reading books on dating as well,
I've read some too, but I really want some experience now,
so ya, just get out there i guess, overcome shyness and take action!
if you are interested in sharing info, talk to me man.
take it easy.

Hey, welcome to the forum,

I like how you're familiar with game already too. That's pretty good. Although... I can't really agree with the selection.

Keys to the VIP - has some great guys, but also has guys who suck balls. The judges to nothing but rip on the contestants, or don't give advice, or criticism - plus they look like stereotypes.

VH1 The P.U.A. - Mystery Method has been long-since evolved from. -.-' There are a lot of simpler things. Albeit, I haven't ever watched the show because I don't get VH1 in my part of Canada.

The Game - entertaining story, but you have to know that most of the people in the book (because it's based on real people) have turned out for the worse. They're famous now, but some have notorious reps.

ie Grimble - SwinggCat. Known for his NLP, and jedi-mind-tricks stuff - but he's also an unethical marketer, apparently.

Style - lots of people don't like him, or Mystery

the list goes on -.-'

Anyways, I didn't mean to shake you or anything. I just want to make you aware of these things. The GOOD thing about The Game, and MM is that it's excellent for beginners because you become familiar with the concepts, and you can just get some success from memorizing lines and routines.

I remember a story from a while back. I was just starting out, and I was heavily into routines, and lines and all that. I kept reading this blonde, very cute. I passed all the S-tests, yada-yada. We had a great time and all that. The lines worked VERY well.

I just couldn't keep up always needing to feed on material over and over.

And I ALWAYS only have these two recommendations for products - Attraction Explained by Adam Lyons, and Flawless Natural by Natural Tim from Real Social Dynamics.

Flawless Natural is a method btw. It's not a book either, it's a DVD set - unless you just get the audio version.

Attraction Explained is an ebook too, so you have do read it on your computer or print it out.

Hope you enjoy posting on the forum,

@pro_J: I feel the same way. I want to approach the girls that I like, but the thing is, the few times I actually do, I crash and burn. I do not know what to say and it is frustrating.

@roxstar: Thank you for your input. I only put those examples to show you guys how much I know of the game, but by no means does it mean that I know everything in PUA. Thank you for the recommendations as well!
