Hi, I'm new to this forum.

I've been living in France, near Geneva, Switzerland for about 10 months.

I'm thirty eight years old but people generally tend to believe that I'm much younger, I'm not sure if it's the way I look, the way I act and present myself or both.

My friend recommended that I read The Game after my divorce and really, that is my only experience so far with studying pick up... that was a little over a year ago. I've lately been trying to practice a little bit to try to overcome my approach anxiety.

I study french, ride my bike two or three hundred kilometers a week, play and watch chess too much and enjoy sitting by Lake Geneva.

My goal is to learn some of the skills of pick up and be able to apply them to other aspects of my life as well as to give me success with women.

I really hate to say this but I'm in a long term relationship but the person I'm in this relationship with has left the country for a nine month work contract and we've therefore opened up said relationship... quite frankly though, I'm not sure that there will still be a relationship but the time she returns. So, I thought I'd use this time to practice pick up, make myself a better, more interesting person and take it from there.

Btw, I'd rather not be flamed about the previous paragraph.

yeah, i know how that sounds.

but seriously, great style, very honest.
so youre basically trying to make the best of your situation, thats a positive approach, cool.
problem #1: the fact you are perceived to be younger
problem #2: approach anxiety

theres loads of threads here about #2 i suggest read->understand->apply, standard procedure for the routines part of this forum, or wait for other users to help you out with that.
and i happen to have an idea about #1 - the question is:
are you ok with being perceived younger?
because no matter if its an appearance thing or a behaviour thing, it might not be bad at all - at 38 you dont really aim exclusively for women of about your age, do you (?) for example if shes 30 herself she wont mind!

just so you know where im coming from: im only 18 and currently in an inner conflict wether i should go for an hb9. she's even giving me a lot of iois... unfortunately shes 14. so age is an issue for me too
