| Post subject: | Hi fellow men |
I could have never imagined that something like this could have existed. I moved from China when I was 6 and had to learn English for the next 4 years. I felt like I was on a whole new planet. As you could probably guess, I could not communicate and my social growth had been completely stunted. In China I had a group of friends that I could always play with. In America, I had books, then later, to my great misfortune, I had TV and video games. Two years ago, I broke my video game habit. One year ago, a friend started me on my road towards social improvement, all with the sentence "You gotta learn to talk to people." Ever since then, I had been working on my ability to connect with other people; however, girls still remain a huge obstacle for me. I cannot even start to approach them without giant fits of nervousness. This conspired to make me lose my self esteem, and I felt that I could never be attractive because I was not born that way. Then that same friend introduced me to pickup, to help me learn. This was approximately a year ago. I had not gone out a lot, I mostly read books and stuff, but I realize the necessity of practicing in the field. So I plan to start going out and meeting strangers but I first would like to know that there's a net for me when I fall hard. I live in California and I am 18. I am starting college next year at UCSB a school renowned for its social life. I love basketball and is dabbling in bboying and drumming. I have a girlfriend, but on this site I am looking to improve myself in general. I do not have the intention of just getting sex; I want to be comfortable around girls in a natural way. |

Welcome Blue. I hope that you'll find everything you want to improve yourself here, and I'm sure that everyone will be happy to help. Nice to have you. And your reasons for wanting to learn the game are a little different than a lot of people on here, so you might just be able to give an interesting point of view to a lot of topics! I look forward to it. |
