Post subject:  Greets from Ireland

Hi all -

I'm a thirty-something AFC from Dublin.

Hopefully in a month or two the AFC will blossom into a PUA extrordinaire!

However, as I'm very new to this world, I am prepared for some patient reading / study / practice.

I think my number one obstacle is a severe dose one "she's the one" - itis!

Do you guys think I should invest in some of Ross Jeffries materials? I bought DYD from David D and it makes a lot of sense...the only thing is that the approach he describes actually sounds quite like my normal style. I actually am quite cocky and funny with women, and am not too shy about approaching (etc) but somewhere down the line I manage to sour the deal and become a "friend" (aaaargh!).

Any advice or suggestions welcomed -- there is so MUCH material out there that I'm unsure where to start :)

Hey man, I'm from Ireland myself (Waterford as opposed to Dublin though I'm afraid). To the best of my knowledge there's a fairly active "lair" in Dublin at the moment. You should log on to IrishSeduction.com

You might find some people to meet up and wing with.

As regards materials to go with, David DeAngelo is a good start but it's really only the tip of the Iceberg. Ross Jeffries stuff can be good but it's a slightly dated form of pick-up and is, in my experience, more difficult to pull off with any kind of congruence than most other styles.

I would recommend Learning a bit about Mystery Method. This is the predominant model of pick-up out there. It's very structured and, in studying it, you'll learn more than from pretty much anything out there. It was the first linear model of pick-up and it's the one that most others are based around even today. To study Mystery Method you should get one of the following:

1. The Venusian Arts Handbook
2. Magic Bullets
3. Revelations

The other avenue you could take if you're already naturally cocky and funny and are into the less structured stuff is Natural Game. This is a form of pick-up that's not based around a pre-determined structure and doesn't use memorised routines but, rather, teaches you to develop your abilities and techniques to naturally pick up women. If you wanna learn this style of game I'd recommend:

1. The Attraction Code by Vin DiCarlo

Hope this helps anyway, don't get too bogged down in the various different methods of pick-up out there. It's a very commercial world and different people and companies are trying to find their own little niches here. Essentially the same principles underlie all of this stuff, it's just that, at a surface level, different 'gurus' take a different angle. Pick one book and really practice the stuff over and over and over before you move onto another book. There's always a trap of trying to read all the different books, going mad at the fact that they all say different things and then never actually getting in the field. Just read one book in depth and get out there and start practicing.

Most importantly though, get in touch with the other pick-up artists in Dublin and start sarging with them. You'll learn more doing that than from any book.

Hey, Punkyfish -- many thanks for such a detailed and helpful reply.

I had no idea that there was any PUA activity in Eire -- I shall deffo check out the site you mentioned!

Your advice is sound and appreciated. I shall take a look at one of the sources you mentioned. And I definitely take your point about the tendency to get bogged down and never actually hit the streets - I'll avoid that like the plague.

Thank god for the Irish brass neck!

Oh, and Impact -- good taste on both counts :)

I second that, I enjoy the occasional guiness and the girls are just sooo easy to get on with (probably the celtic link :D )

The oneitis is something that nearly every person on this forums starts with, 9 times out of 10 it just goes away naturally providing you don't go out of your way trying to hook up with this girl.
