what's going on fellas, lil intro here. From Roseville California, near Sacramento, im 26 and just found out about this whole PUA thing. Was reading THE GAME by Neil Strauss, im actually just 130 pgs in. Pretty interesting book, I don't read a lot but I found myself reading like 80 pgs straight first night 3 nights ago. So I have no method, just pretty much go with the flow. Like others im sure, I find all of this hard to believe. I'm away on deployment for 3 months and finding things to do is kinda hard. Goals as far as PUA subject I have none YET. Would like someone to make me a believer. |

Most "game" proponents market their work as this campy, "get laid instantly" type of knowledge. So part of it comes off as really inane and immature. But there are some complex sociological and psychological stuff that game is actually based off of. Up until about a year ago all of my relationships were fucked. I let women walk all over me. It was never an intentional thing; I just always wanted to be sweet and caring and all around a good person to my various significant others. Eventually I realized that no one can respect someone who kisses their ass. So my friend turned me on to writers like Tyler Durden and Roissy. And now I can understand just exactly what game means. It's a formulation of different strategies based off of evolutionary psych and field observations of other men who are "natural" at getting laid. You don't need to become a full blown PUA. I'm not. However this sort of knowledge can help maintain your relationships. You don't need to internalize everything, just understand that as a man you're expecting to fulfill certain standards. It's your choice to what extent you want to learn this type of stuff but it often helps in relationships. |
