Post subject:  An old dog

I decided to join this forum because I enjoy helping men with dating and trying to figure out and solve problems. I'm not new to this subject and I no longer struggle with meeting or dating women. I got into the pickup community back in late 2008 out of desperation. My social skills were extremely poor and my limiting beliefs were very abundant, but I was willing and dedicated to changing this. After moving into a city, I joined my local lair and participated in many of the events, as well as consistently learning on my own. The most useful thing I did was make friends that had similar goals as me and helped me gain awareness of my own problems. I put most of my focus on meeting women during the day or what is referred to as "day game". I was never much of a fan of clubs and bars, but I don't mind them now and am pretty comfortable in any social environment.

In 2011 I was to the point of being an admin/moderator on my local lair, because I was always so involved and I ran or help run events and eventually started coaching guys 1 on 1, but more-so in 2012 for free. After getting decent reputation amongst a small crowd, I charged a low price or took donations for my help.

In 2012 I started seeing the limitations of pickup and how it often doesn't actually fix psychological problems, but only changes behavior. I began studying various forms of therapy and psychology. This allowed me to pinpoint all the psychological reasons I ever struggled with women to begin with and helped me progress even more. I got an awesome girlfriend that I met on a street approach, and we have been dating for a year and a half now and have had a very healthy relationship, which I can give credit to eliminating my insecurities and neediness.

I have a lot of disagreements with the pickup community and I think there are a lot of unhealthy behaviors and beliefs that often result from the community teaches and preaches. I think there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to men's self-help. But I hope to occasionally come on here and give my input and hopefully I can help a few guys out.
-Cheers
