Hows it going guys. I've been hanging out on this forum for a pretty good amount of time (about 2 months), and I finally decided to join a few days ago. I enjoy reading the posts here, but I've been avoiding following any advice for a couple of reasons. 1. I can't seem to shake the feeling that my appearance matters (African-American, overweight... etc.) 2. I also can't seem to get the idea out of my head that I'm not good enough to date anybody, let alone hot chicks. 3. I also had some kind of idea that a) Pickup routines are beneath me, and b) I wouldn't be able to use them correctly even if they weren't. I suspect that the second reason carries more weight than the first. Then I read somewhere that those routines weren't actually for picking up women, that was simply a bonus. The routines are actually for the building of confidence that can be used to communicate with anyone. The funny thing is that I was sort of on the fringes of the PUA community a few years ago. I even used the techniques to pull a number close which led to the strangest hookup I ever had (I'll post that report on another part of the forum at another time). This hookup completely turned me off on the community. But now I'm back, and I'm willing to give it another go. My info: 48 years old. Located in Poway, CA. I'm a nerd and proud of it. I call myself "The Otakuologist" because I have an interest in almost all aspects of Japanese Pop Culture and love to gather data on it. I'm crazy for anime and some video games which most of my non-nerd friends tease me for. It used to bother me until I realized that I'm a grown ass man, and am allowed to like what I choose too. My goal is to have sex on a regular basis and to try to escape the "oneitis" I always seem to get when I like a girl. Eventually, I'd like to get into a relationship with an attractive woman but only after "playing the field" so to speak. I look forward to getting to know all of you. |

Take a holistic approach to life, address your behavioural issues (here and out in the social scene) but also address your physical and health issues. Every areas pours into every other area, don't just concentrate on one. Lose the weight, so you have the confidence to show the true self, the confidence to show who you really are inside your mind and when you are around those people you trust  Good luck xo

Welcome to the site bro! Appearance really isn't everything dude. I know guys who aren't good looking at all who kiss close multiple times a night! I really want you to stick at it and you will soon see that appearance isn't everything. However, let me say one thing. I was overweight two years ago. I lost that excess shit and it really helped my confidence. Today went sarging for just 30 minutes and got 3 pretty girls numbers. I'm fairly good looking now. Also you mentioned the fact that you're African American working against you...you need to get that out your head man. Plenty of girls love black guys! I'm a tall, skinny British-Indian gentleman and I get plenty of attention. Anyway, if you want things much easier, you can always lose it. If not, don't worry because if you put your balls on the line time and time again, you WILL make some interesting shit happen. I totally want to see you succeed man. I have a journal on the field reports section why don't you say hey once in a while. I'm a virgin (21) but since I took up pick up a few weeks ago gorgeous women are entering my life, I'm simply so blessed for having found this. Peace & Love, R |
