Don't worry, I don't type like that. =) I'm a person who likes to learn new things. One day I was doing that. I was walking around the bookstore looking for something to read and I saw The Game. I read it all in the bookstore and decided I liked it so much that I bought it to re-read. That a few months ago. Googling pua brought me here. I've been reading anonymously for sometime and finally decided to join and ask questions and try to help other. But mostly to ask questions. I was reading thread here yesterday that was concerned with asking the question why we're here. Most people initiate themselves into this culture, I think, because they realize they have a problem in their life and they wish it resolved. Women are either an enimga, frightening, discouraging, or all of those things, for some reason. One thing that struck me from the beginning of The Game was Style's self-perception of himself at the first workshop he attended. He knew what he was, and he knew what he was doing: admitting to failure. I was raised in a devout southern baptist family. That alone should suffice as an explanation as to why I'm here. If it does not suffice, I'll go further to say that I took my religious views pretty seriously. I'm not attempting to turn this "hello" thread into a religious debate; people can be religious and be good with women, in fact, I think it could probably work to one's advantage in some cases. My own situation, however, was not conducive to cultivating a character that women would be attracted to. Not that I'm unattractive physically, but we all now know that looks don't count for as much with women as we ( or rather I ) thought back when we spent all our time second guessing ourselves. In any case I'm irreligious now. I'm actually a philosophy major at ULM in north Louisiana. I've had a great time learning from everything I've read here so far and I hope to be able to help out in return and make some friends in the process. |

Welcome to the forum! I completely agree that most people join the forum because they recognize that something in their lives needs to change in order for them to be successful in all aspects of their life, and specifically with women. Once these people have made up their minds to change regardless of what it takes, they will succeed. Others, realize they need to change and want to change but are unwilling to do what is necessary. These guys give half-hearted attempts to change and never really want to put in the effort. They are left somewhere in between. Lastly, there is the poser. The guy who thinks the forum is cool and helpful. Maybe this guy is out for a quick lay. Perhaps, he has a one-itis question he wants answered. Some have natural game and feel this is beneath them, but ultimately they have no intention of making a life change. As a member of this forum I have happily helped all 3 types of people. I will quote Mystery in his explanation of perusing Venusian Arts and/or mastery ~"On one side of the river is AFC Land, and on the other side of the river is PUAville. You can be on either side of the river you want, but in between you f-ing die!" He further goes on to say, "I know you came here for proficiency and not mastery, but if its proficiency you seek, you drown!" With those things being said you pretty quickly realize who is here for what after reading a few posts. I heartily welcome you as a member since you are committed to change. You will find the life you seek, and though painful to change at times, you WILL FIND THE LIFE YOU SEEK! Very Sincerely and Respectfully, |

Welcome to the Forum! I'm Southern, a former presbyterian in fact, and you sound like an academic which is completely exhilarating! I look forward to your contributions. If you need any advice from a woman's perspective... feel free to pop a question on my thread. (The link is in my signature.) Cheers! |
