Post subject:  Intro and my weak point

Hello PUA forum!

I'd like to introduce myself here. I've recently read The Game after it was recommended to me by a close friend. I'm someone who's always interested in learning new skills, and improving myself is somewhat of a passion for me. So these PUA concepts fascinated me, and interacting with women is an important area that I feel needs improving my life.

I'm generally very confident and outgoing, but I do terribly with picking up women. I'm pretty sure the problem is just that I simply don't know what to say. It's not confidence - I don't tense up, and I never fail to do something that I intend to do. I just don't know what to intend to do. If that makes sense :p. I did the newbie game this past Sunday at a local mall, said hi to many people, no problem there, I just don't know what to say in conversation. I understand not to just interview the person (nor would I want to), but at the same time I don't want to just walk up to someone and start telling them stories or whatever.

Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts or tips on the best way to start and address this problem, that'd be great!

Thanks in advance, and nice to meet you guys!

Hi stax97. Welcome to the forums,

I have a similar problem in regards to conversation. I suggest setting some goals. like arranging to meet again for coffee (my minimum goal would be attempting to number close). With that in mind you should be able to coax the conversation topic to those motives. Its good to have afew routines up your sleeve for when the conversation starts to die (cold reading, opinion on something).

That's my newbie advice anyway,

Good luck

Thanks for the help fazzyman. My only reservation is I'm not too fond of the magic/esp stuff. No offense to anyone who uses it and it works for them, but it just seems corny to me and I can't see myself pulling it off. Asking opinion on something seems more of like an opener to me, although I can see the right type of question going into a longer conversation.

I guess I'm starting to make excuses now? Or are these legitimate concerns and I should try to find other techniques?

Thanks again.
