| Post subject: | 22, Melbourne, total newbie |
Hey everyone, Recently single. When I was in LTR I read The Game and decided that once I was single I was going to stop being a serial monogamist, at least for a while. And that's what brought me here. Total newbie. Aside from just recently firing off a few messages on PoF and OKCupid (used the Darth Vader routine, yet to hear back, profile needs work I think) I've never run any game. I've had a few girlfriends, I'm not some neck bearded shut in, but as I mentioned I tend to just hop from one long relationship to another. I want to change that. Bizarrely someone answered a personal I put up on another site and that's got me into a fwb situation. But that's not gonna last. The whole point is to meet women. Plural! I'm 22, live in Melbourne, Australia. I live with parents but looking to move out as soon as I can save up a bit. Hobbies...I practice martial arts, work out, I have a love of fine liquor and make a decent cocktail, watch TV, read, movies etc. all the normal crap. I'm not a "man's man" in the sense I'm not hugely into cars or sports. Haven't really got any concrete 'goals' in coming here. Basically I just want to fuck around a bit and learn how to pick up. I've never really done it before, I always just sort of fell into relationships that I liked an they stuck. I suppose if we're getting deep I want to get good game as a confidence boost. I can be a little shy but I tend to warm up pretty quick. I feel like if I was going to have any sticking points it'd be approaching and opening. Once I get into a conversation I can pretty well keep it going normally. But I guess that's what everyone says! I dress pretty average. Shirts, jeans, Vans or Adidas. The most peacocking I've ever done was wear one of those god awful Taco Bill sombreros. So that's me. Where do I start?! |

Sorry for double post So I got a few responses from my online approaches. Now I'm bricking it because I'm actually in conversation and haven't got a clue how to proceed! Opened with Darth Vader and then she's said... "Oh, I have the best sort of humour but I was really worried for a second there haha. You're too kind I'm thinking at this point just fluff talk? I've got a dinner date tonight with a girl-friend, thought I'd throw that in as social proof? She mentions she likes Nickelback in her profile so I thought I'd tease her about that. I'm not looking for step by step, but am I on the right track? I suppose the benefit with online sarging is you've got more than a second to think about your response. |

OKCupid. I've been sending out messages on there the past week and getting a pretty good response rate. I'd say >90% message back, it's an awesome opener - at least in my newbie opinion. Managed to number close and organise a date with one. Working on several others. I've also been on Plenty of Fish but for some reason have had less luck on there. And OasisActive, although that's pretty much all profile/pics seeing as you can't send a PM straight away, just a sort of 'expression of interest'. |
