Inb4 tl;dr I'm a 17 year old Canadian/Czech male from Hamilton Ontario. I aspire to become a guitarist/producer and a pilot. I broke up with my girlfriend of 10 months 2 weeks ago. It was because she felt that I was dragging her down in life, and that I needed to deal with my problems, and become more social. (You can lead a horse to water..) I am in the process of recovering from a depression that has lasted almost 2 1/2 years. When my brother saw how hard I was dealing with all of this, he handed me his "favourite book," claiming that it would help me out with my social inhibitions. It was Neil Strauss's 'The Game.' After reading it, I felt as though I had attained a self-awareness that I hadn't ever had in my life. I find myself constantly stuck in my head rationalizing situations that I'm in. I feel that becoming a PUA will benefit the way I view myself, and help me with social situations pertaining to everyday life, relationships, friends, and careers/jobs, as well as making me more confident and feeling more 'In the moment.' I'd appreciate any advice, input, or criticism. |
