Post subject:  Greetings from South Africa

Hi guys!

I'm very excited to have finally joined the forum! I hope to learn many great and new things in changing my life from all of you! Now I'm sure that you don't get many people from our neck of the woods, so a little background about our beautiful country and myself.

I'm the usual AFC who is paralysed by the fear of approaching women and speaking to new people in general. After a 3 year relationship, I've had my heart broken by the woman I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. To be honest I think I got lucky in dating her in the first place. It's been a couple of months now and I've been through the moping and depression phase, and think that it is time to move on with my life. The problem is that I am turning 30 this year and wonder if it might be too late for me to learn the techniques to help me build a better life.

Our country is unique in that it is so culturally diverse that I am probably going to strike out a few times simply due to culture. We have some of the most beautiful women in the world, but given our tragic past there is still a tendency for women to stick to people of their own races and cultures, although that is slowly changing. Having been to a few countries, I've noticed that our women don't just have walls, they have fortresses! Therefore it is pretty difficult to get through them in the first place. I'm an Indian male, but have no real preferences towards race or culture, as long as she is a genuinely nice person.

Now that the long story is out of the way, I'm hoping that you guys can point me in the right direction :) A sequence of techniques for what usually works, if you will. I've been aware of the seduction community for a while, and even read some of the material by guys like Style, Mystery and many of the threads here (including the newbie threads), but it seems like so much to absorb that I feel overwhelmed which I'm scared might result in freezing over when it comes to putting it into practise.

Right now I just need a starting point to get over the approach anxiety, and to be able to hold a conversation long enough to start building confidence. I realise that I will first have to start finding a dress sense to suit my look and body, but have no idea how to go about doing this. And then the real stuff - opening sets and keeping their interest for long enough for me to start feeling confident enough to move on to the next steps of pickup.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks again for taking the time to help! :)
