Post subject:  Hi everyone, Looking forward to improving you you guys.

Hi there,

I'm a 22 year old man of Chinese descent currently living in Perth and will be here for at least a year. I have read 'The Game' and having compared it to the contents to my own social life, I feel that I could be doing so much more with it.

I came here mainly for peer advice and some direction on where to begin my self improvement.

The main challenge;

I feel that my social skills have been somewhat stunted.

Having grown up in an ultra-conservative single parent household with an overprotective and interfering mother, who got so hysterical at the thought of me interacting with girls that she screened my friends to ensure their masculinity, enrolled me into a single-sex catholic school for ten years and even ensured that any tuition class I entered was single-sex.

After that, I was conscripted into the Singapore army which was also an all male affair. And with the money I saved in the army, I went to study in Perth, where I find myself independent for the first time.

So, in short, I have had less interaction with women than most.

I found myself unable to read body language and cues. And even before I reached that talking phase, I had trouble approaching women as I found it hard to meet them eye to eye. I even stuttered sometimes. Which was bad.

I have improved somewhat, but I feel I am far from the mark I set.

With the grand total of 0 encounters or relationships, I feel that I've got a ways to go.

How I would like to improve;

I feel that I will have to improve my inner game before I attempt anything else.

Which is why I'm here.

Cheers.

If I could give any advice, I would suggest doing what you had mentioned. Take a look at your inner game first. But all of this isn't so hard that you can't work on both at the same time. Work on inner for a bit, then switch to outer. They actually compliment each other perfectly. Just don't get stuck on one thing. Work on something then move on. Oh and by the way.......welcome!
