| Post subject: | Hello from a 17 year old 'Nice Guy' |
Hello MPUA! My name is Jesse; I'm Asian, 5'11 and a student who is about to embark on the adventure known as University/College. But first I'd like to share my story and where I am at life. I've been raised by a single parent - my mum - throughout the 'teething' stages of my life. I developed skills and a personality based on her behaviour, taught to be pretty much, as I realise now, a doormat. Browsing through this forum, I know this is not the way to attract girls. Never had problems making friends with girls, no, never a problem. But moving past that? Definitely. I know I'm attractive, being told many times by other people. But.I.Just.Can't.Get.Anywhere.With.It. In high school, I was part of a minority 'selective' class that was picked based on academic merit - we were frowned upon and I pretty much progressed through the first 3 years of high school as a 'loser'. Fat, pimply, glasses, braces, no friends, you name it. But I sought the route of self improvement, ditched it all, proved that I'm capable of change. Last year of high school was a high point for me - many friends, success etc. No luck in getting a girlfriend. But I'll cut to the chase. Why am I here? Because I know I have the ability to change. I'm a chronic 'friendzoned' guy. I even had a chance to, as you guys would call it, date a 'HB10' - but I blew it because I'm too nice. I want to learn how to progress. I have setbacks - a lack of any real 'chick magnet' skills (except playing the guitar), awkwardness when I want to make myself clear about intentions and an overprotective mum who will go out of her way to 'stop duh son from going to see duh laydee friends'. Will you guys help me? PS. These acronyms are making me go crazy. Anyone have a link telling me PUA lingo? Cheers |

| Post subject: | Not too nice, perhaps... |
Let me start by stating that while I have been in the community for a few years, I definitely don't claim to be a master of any sort... I'm posting because I can relate to you. I forgot where I heard this first (maybe from something Style said in a podcast or something): "Women are necessarily looking for bad boys, they are looking for STRONG guys!" Don't let women (or anyone) confuse your kindness for weakness. It IS definitely possible to be both nice AND strong! |
