tldr; I'm Puff McGruff. Puff for short. I'm new to pick up, and look forward to learning. Hello everyone, you can call me Puff McGruff. Or Puff for short. I'm new, obviously, to the world of pick up. I've just began reading The Game yesterday. My friend, who I will call Marine, introduced me to this world. I look forward to meeting you all and integrating myself into this community. Allow me to tell you a bit about me. I am a nerd, but I make it work. I don't let it come off too strong, but I don't hide it, either. Moreover, I'm short. I'm only 5'2". I don't see that as an obstacle, though. I went sarging for the first time today. Marine was my wing. We went to Wal-Mart. Classy, right? The goal, though, wasn't for a close, but to break barriers. I'm not used to approached strangers randomly. So today was an exercise to do just that. I'll tell you about my experience if you're interested in reading. The first target I approached was a blonde 9. With Marine behind me (we really do contrast a lot, which I believe is good; he's almost 6' and wears dark colors; while I'm short as I am and wear bright colors), I approached from the front and slightly left. ME: Hello BLONDE: Hi. ME: Would you mind settling a debate between my friend and I? You see, he's a Marine, and has been offered a station in Japan. He wants to go, but at the same time he's been traveling for the past two years and would like to stay home. BLONDE: *Turns to Marine* Well, do you really want to go? MARINE: I do, but it's just I've been travelling for so long, I'm not sure. BLONDE: Well you should go. At this point, we exchange polite farewells and Blonde walks away. Lesson learned: That was a bad opening. It turned the focus on my wing, and away from me. It's something I could use as a wing, though. Moreover, I was slightly nervous and it showed to the trained eye. This won't be as much of a problem as I gain more experience, and become more comfortable with the game. The second target was a brunette 7 1/2. She seemed more my type, as well. Now, this encounter was interesting, and fate gave me a big tool to work with. Brunette was an employee, and she was taking inventory of meat. Marine pretended to be comparing meat while he texted. Naturally, I approached her from the front and at a slight left. ME: Hi. BRUNETTE: Hello. ME: So, I was wondering if I could get your help. See, I have this friend who saw a girl he might be interested in. But he's not sure how to open a conversation with her. I, myself, am not good at such things. So, I was just wondering if you might have any advice. BRUNETTE: Well, I'm not sure. That's a tough one. I'm glad I'm a girl, so I don't have to worry about that. It must be tough being a guy. ME: Yeah, it can be. (We have a little chuckle) ME: So, how long have you been working at Wal-Mart? BRUNETTE: 7 months. ME: Is it a good job or does it just suck ass? BRUNETTE: It's a job like any other. ME: Yeah, I understand that. I work at Burger King myself. Until I'm 21, then I'm going into the police academy. It just sucks I have to wait. BRUNETTE: How old are you now? ME: 20. BRUNETTE: Well, you don't have too long to wait. ME: Yeah, just till April. BRUNETTE: Really? I was born in April, and I'm 20, too. ME: That's awesome. What day? BRUNETTE: The 5th. ME: No way! Mine's the 5th, too! BRUNETTE: Really? Now way! ME: Yeah, I'll prove it. (I pulled out my license and showed her.) BRUNETTE: That's weird. ME: Yeah, it is. Hey, I have to go get some things done. I'd like to talk to you again, though. Any way we can set that up? BRUNETTE: Yeah, give me your number. Now, I attempted to have her give me her number. But she explained she preferred to be the first to text/call. I went with it, because after all, this whole venture wasn't necessarily to make a close. It was to break barriers and to get comfortable approaching women. My only issues this time, was, of course, slight nervousness. Which was apparent to anyone looking for it. Otherwise, I did fine. As time goes by, I will only grow more confident and become better at what I do. Thank you for taking the time to read if you did. |
