Hi, I'm new to the forum, and the PUA community as a whole, I got introduced to the community when my best friends girlfriend gave me a copy of The Game to read. Now I have a copy of Dating to Relating (Mr. L Rx), Double Your Dating (David DeAngelo), and Rules of The Game (Style).

I'm working my way through them, hoping to learn as much as I can from all of these guides, and from you guys yourselves. I just turned 18 and I'm looking to turn around my bad luck with women, I am an unnatural or else I wouldn't be here. I would really appreciate it if anyone would point me to some of the things that do or don't work in the guides I now have, as well as sharing what ever you can. I really appreciate it.

Welcome Gunslinger. You've made the best decision of your life.

Things that do and don't work about these guys.

Do:

All of them work.
They have been written by people with extensive amount of experience in the field
They cover the fundamentals.

Dont:

Double your dating: Concentrates more on how to keep women but not on how to attract them on the first place

The Game: It's a long story with lots of tips. Probably not practical enough for improving anyone's game to the point of getting women consistently.

The third one I have never heard of. Sorry.

I now have the mystery method as well. Is what is outlined inside still effective, or has it become out-dated?

Sorry for the late response. The Mystery Method will always be a classic. It's a great introductory book, with good techniques, and approaches.

The thing about that program is that it focuses on one concept: Fake it till you make it.

For many PUAs that's the incorrect method of becoming good with women. You have to work on your inner game, and that's greatly omitted on the Mystery Method. Can it help yes? Can it be the only source of information one should have? No.

Also, that course uses too many pick-up lines, which are well known not only in the community but outside of it too. Remember the TV show "The Pick-Up Artist"? It was a couple of years ago on VH1. It became popular. It also showed to the public many of the lines presented in the book to the point that many PUAs had to re-structured their whole game because of that. So be cautious.
