There are two times magic tricks can work as a DHV:
1) if the target (or one of her friends,
not you or or your wing!) set it up. Generally this means *them* pointing out the prop. "That's a cool ring"... you can say "It's a magic ring".
If you do have items that get comments, learn a trick or 2 with them. Hats, necklaces, etc. You can do most rope and knot tricks with necklaces and some with bracelets so they're useful to have in your arsenal. Many coin tricks can be done with rings.
2) Proposition bets. see:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z2GDkTS1nU These work because they're a compliance test but
should only be introduced if she says "buy me a drink" or says about going to the bar. If she mentions going to the bar say "Buy me a drink if..." and introduce the bet. These are good because they're a compliance test, you can introduce kino and they get her involved.
Other than that, they come across as incredibly try hard and approval seeking.
unless you a a professional magician (in which case she'll inevitably ASK to see a trick) don't randomly introduce magic tricks. It'll hurt you more than it will help you.
