I used to never hit abs and im not exactly sure why, but i have been lately and it is just taking forever for them to pop thru. my weight is at 165 and looking at me you can tell that I workout. I have heard that circuit training your abs is the most efficient way to achieving a six pack...i guess i just dont know where to start. Can anyone chime in on this??

The best book for this is called 4-hourbody by tim ferris

I have a 6 pack and I do 6 sets weighted/seated crunches followed by torso rotations using a cable and then on the machine. Then, using the back extension device I lean sideways holding a weight and crunch my obliques alternating sides of course.

My belief is to confuse the hell out of the muscle so I switch up the order and the style. Maybe 3 weeks I use weight for the muscle to tear and develop then the next week I would do myotic crunch with a drop set of cat vomit exercise to lean it out. It has worked great for me.

Everyone has different body types though. I am a 6'6 225 ectomorph.
I used to be 180, but have worked to gain 45 pounds.

Thanks bro i appreciate it. I have been making sure to do weighted exercises 3x8 or 3x12 as i feel like it is dumb to do stuff like 3x50. Cuz your abs are still a muscle like any other muscle. How i see it is you wouldnt workout ur arms that many reps, so why do that for ur abs. But thanks for the info i havent tried some of those workouts and ill make sure to check out that book. Gotta get spring break ready lol

I heard about that 4 hour body bullshit
Im very skeptical of that, but I refuse to even touch such bullshit.

The best thing you can do for your abs are different things.

One day, do planks and stability shit
Another day, do front and side contractions
Another day, do rotational shit

the reason you have heard that circuit training is the best idea is because circuit training revolves around burning more calories and running a circuit, that promotes a more lean physique

(higher reps, less weight, more calories burned)

this leads to fat loss, a 6pack is the result of a low body fat %, as well as developed abdominals,

you want to see those abs, just design yourself a cut diet and don't cheat, could take a month or two, start doing cardio and doing a routine that involves alot of caloric output on your part and the abs will start to present, how ever if you are not very well developed, then you will also look like a skelleton by the time your abs are showing, if this is the case, then it is time to start lifting and putting more of a weekly focus on abs and what their limit is

but realistically it has been said that abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym (low body fat %, specifically 6-8% bf, and your abs should be presenting)
