Post subject:  I just moved to the country area, how to meet new people?

I was born in the country, moved to big cities, and just moved back to the country. I'm in the biggest city around, but country people are very different from city people and frankly, I don't know where or how to meet people.

The place:
There are like 3 bars, 0 clubs, and 'nothing to do' according to those I ask, and they seem to marry young out here so my pickings seem rather slim.

Me:
I'm in my mid 20s, I look much younger, I'm told I'm handsome, my style in the city was more dark/punk but that doesn't fly out here much so I'm a little stuck on how to tell what's in out here. Most people just wear jeans and some kind of T-shirt with something printed on it. I look good in suits and stuff but that doesn't work well with a manual labor job. I'm full of interests and hobbies that don't seem to be applicable out here, facebook seems to be thhe only other way to meet people, and my other job, photographer, has only netted me one connection so far.

What do you guys suggest?

Gross. That look is not typically hot man. Women want a guy of high status, and dressing like a punk (unless you're some famous musician) is not generally a good look.

Try doing a search of meetup.com. There are so many groups out there doing loads of things! Check local news papers/websites of those papers. There are things to do daily. A goal I have is to get out everyday and do something I haven't done before. There should be local papers with group/small time biz event listings. FB has local event lists too!

I urge you not to just search out one girl, but to find groups to do things you enjoy doing. Being too focused on one thing is no good no matter what it is.

Thanks for the reply. Where I was, the darker look or the ghetto look was the style haha.

I made friends with a lady that works for a TV station. Even she said there wasn't much to do in the winter. I was wondering, what are the chances of inviting a random girl to ski or ice skate? There really isn't much else that I can think of.

Yes, I grew up in Ferguson, MO (city of Michael Brown) a mainly black area, and I'm white. I don't dress ghetto or like a black person. I'm far more educated and well off than that!

Um, sure that sounds fun. Doing something active is always better than sitting around. I don't know your area so you have to find things to do. It might be a small town, but you can always use your imagination!

Well, yeah I do need to find things to do. I'm asking here for ideas because I ran out. Where do girls congregate other than bars, malls, and sitting at home?

Wear what you want, don't change your style to wear you live. You are the one in control not the city/ country.

Move away from where you are living as fast as you can

meetup.com is a good way to meet people with similar interests. Reddit might also be a good place to start, although if it is as remote as you suggest, these sites might not be as effective.

Start something yourself and you'll soon start meeting people that you never knew existed who are in the same boat as you....you would be surprised!

Girl wise, follow social media, look at twitter and events that are going on, start networking at the 3 bars in the town, get to know the regulars, all the information they can give you will be a blessing, im sure in a small place like this it shouldn't be too hard to do!
