Hi,

I've been going to the gym for about half a year now and I've made a great progress.
But I notice that I get a lot of bad comments about it. Only the guys seem to appreciate it but the girls don't think it looks attractive. For example yesterday I saw a girl who I kissed a few months ago and she remembered me, she came up to me and started talking. She said ' why do you actually go to the gym so much? You're still hot but I think you're getting too muscled ' And I get a lot of reactions like this, it discourages me and I don't know if going to the gym is worth the effort anymore?
I am 1m82 , 80kg and have 10% bodyfat now. So I'm not that big and I don't have alot of fat.

I believe it has more to do with the women you hang around with, its quite the opposite for me. I'm 5'10, 205 pounds with a 13% bf at the moment and get lots of compliments on my physique.

What I've noticed about women is that muscles are pretty intimidating to them, which is why you got to show you're a nice guy. Once you introduce yourself to them and such they begin to fall right into your lap, so to speak.

If you think about what she said, it was a comment on how much muscle you had not on muscle in genreal. Sure I think 99% o women think Mr. Olymic is disgusting and if you are roided up thats bad. But at the same time most women think Athletes are hot. So athletes not go to the gym and train alot. So I think to tone your body and build muscle for shape and not size would get womens opinions better.

But as someone else pointed out some girls dig it some don't. I like skinny/petite girls. I have a good friend who like girls who got more meat on them. Its a matter of personal prefrence.

There's nothing wrong with having muscles but don't overdo it to where you're beginning to see veins. Most women don't like that and might see you as a gymholic, so you can focus more on toning and having a good physique.

Muscles and being in shape are attractive, to a point. Exactly the same with boobs, most guys dont actually find huge fake tits that attractive as they don't look natural.

looks are subjective from girl to girl, also girls change their preference between a more masculine look to a more femanine look depending on your cycle (so you can't really trust what she is saying), and are more likely to be looking for sex during the masculine look phase of their cycle, where as more prone to want a long term relationship during the femanine look phase of the cycle, but it is just a preference that was noted not an absolute, so think of what you want, what she says is not really that important, but if you are more geared towards the pretty boy skinny modelesk type guy, then naturally the physical preference will be suited towards keeping guys around (possible long term sex but she will be more likely to hold out), or if you want to be more suited to girls giving it up faster and being in a more physical relationship that doesn't tend to last as long, then the physical preference that would support your goals is a muscular masculin body, but you can achieve either ends by either means, it has just been studied and the preference has been observed to be different during the different phases of ovulation

also not too many girls prefer super skinny or fat (but some still do), so at least try to maintain fitness, there are extremes to everything though and if you get way to big (160-180 is not too big, you are kidding yourself if you think that is big), it can be unattractive to alot of girls, but will appeal to a certain neiche of women who have a fetish for hulks, if you're 250 lb lean you will find most girls find you gross, but the ones that are into it, are fucking way into it

GIrls dont know the work required to acheive/maintain what you already do.
In my opinion, muscles can't be anything BUT helpful.

And the veiny look isnt bad. The cartoonish bodybuilder look is the one that's a lil eh.
I'm pretty veiny, (forearms, biceps, shoulders, thighs) at 150lbs, 5'8 - so it looks like I'm a hardworking man, rather than some huge cartoonish bodybuilder.

It depends how you look.

If it's conditioned muscle, and you're not just a lump who wears tight clothing to make him self appear bigger then I think it works in your favour. I think too big guys look quite intimidating and less likely to get approached your self.

Lean, athletic look is the way forward.

some chicks dig big muscles, some dig skinny emo guys, some dig hippy dude some dig black guys some dig mexican guys....so who the hell cares, be 100% happy with the way you look, whatever look that may be. chances are the chick that said you were too muscly was throwing you a shit test to see if you would try and qualify yourself right after, and chances are it worked...


If your happy with you first, they'll be happy with you as well.

Lower class women go for more muscular guys generally. Example Jersey shore women - lol

And higher class women prefer skinnier guys - lean guys.

But Otis is right , this shouldn't matter. Its all about your Confidence and your Pu skills
