I got bullied when I was younger and still get teased some. I've learned to kind of just stay out of people's way and keep a low profile and that works mostly, although I still get some crap. Anyways, I know my defense is like counter to what PUA is about. Trapped in a circle. Anyone have any experiences like that? PM me if you'd rather not reveal to the group, would like to hear your stories.
Anxiety in any form sucks but the way to beat it is to do what you fear most. In this case, talk to more people. Talk to strangers. Have conversations with women in the store or just in passing. They don't have to be attractive to you. Just get the feeling down. It will get easier.
I was bullied as a kid as well. It haunted me for years, to the point where I didn't feel attractive as a man, and like I didn't deserve the girls or success like other guys.
But eventually I realised to get the success I want and deserve in life, I can't allow the bullies of the world to determine how high I'll go.
So I joined various Marshall Arts classes and got myself physically strong and ready to take on anyone.
I started competing in Muay Thai and K1.
What I learned is to not be afraid of a fight. I give my best, but I NEVER back down.
Bullies have a way of instilling a sense of like you don't deserve to fucking breathe air. I literally had to fight it, be in the face of bullies in life.
Bullies are everywhere, and they have this subtle way of pushing the mindset that somehow you don't deserve to WIN.
That's why bullied kids are less competitive - because they don't feel like they deserve to be on top.
So with your low profile approach to life bullshit - screw that man. Join some marshall arts clubs, start doing something to say to the world "Bitches I am here".
One man that changed my outlook on this and inspired me to fight and stand up for myself and fight for my own place in the world was Muhammad Ali.
Man he was no bullie, but he kicked a lot of bullies asses. First Sony Liston, who everyone said is going to beat his ass, then he fought the public when he didn't want to go to the army, then George Foreman to regain his title, etc.
This is one of my favourite quotes from him:
“I am America. I am the part you won't recognize. But get used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me.”
This is how a guy who doesn't allow bullies to bully him around anymore TALKS.
I would highly recommend you find a role model like him and step out of the shadow.
Because here's the thing - you being bullied has nothing to do with how worth you are or how much you deserve. You may feel like less because that's what they told you, but you are EQUAL to anyone in this world.
So don't allow bullies to take away your pride and your sense of equality and dignity. You literally have to FIGHT for it.
