It is very important that you begin your workout by stretching. Stretching before and after exercising is the best way to avoid injuries and relax your muscles to help them recover. In addition to stretching, make sure to get massages regularly to help you relax your muscles. Relaxed muscles rebuild faster after you damage them through working out. Set realistic short-term goals. While you may hope to squat 300 pounds just a month after you start working out, this is not a feasible goal, and it's one that could cause you to injure yourself.
