Have this happen to me somewhat frequently: catch a girl checking me out, flipping her hair and shit, go over, open her with some kind of contextual comment/compliment and introduction. Her response: more hair flipping, pupils dilate, and in some cases obvious light blushing, and then... no verbal response. LOL
I usually smile/chuckle/laugh and end up at a loss of words myself. Clubs/bars/EDM festivals usually brings other girls hovering in my vicinity immediately after this, but I've just gotten myself fixated on this particular girl and am in shock myself wondering WTF.

Thoughts?

Silent treatment is a shit test. Sometimes they do it right off the bat just to filter out AFC's and guys who only have enough balls to approach but lack real game. Especially in bars and clubs where approaching is commonplace.

I'm quite familiar with this situation - you usually just have to "hang in there" long enough to properly determine whether they're interested and testing you (like puaninja said), or you misread the signals and they're genuinely not interested.

Also, keep in mind that some girls have a shy personality, even in high-energy environments with other (more extroverted) people in close proximity. So instead of having specific expectations or being too reactive to their initial response, it's useful to give the "benefit of the doubt" and lead the interaction, attempting to make them comfortable enough to open up, which will allow further dialogue to occur.

If you still can't get through, move on and find someone who appreciates your style more (instead of trying to force it upon someone who isn't giving you anything to work with).

I would say it like this:

"Girl, when I saw you smiling, it was very inviting.I was thinking that you were inviting me over here speak with you on a personal level..."

Let her to answer it.
