I find I have a hard time holding eye contact while walking by people or in dining areas. What are some ways to practice maintaining eye contact with a person from across the room and how long is too long for holding this. Thank you

try taking a walk and holding eye contact with each and every women who walks past you, hold the eye contact till the women looks away, or starts smiling, as you practice this, you will instinctively know how to make good eye contact. and always focus on looking at one eye not both eyes, narrow your focus.

+1 for trying to hold eye contact for 3 seconds while walking down the street and passing by girls that are also walking. You can do it. If 3 seconds it too uncomfortable at first, try 2 seconds.

Not the smile, but the smirk is the key!

One of my favourite techniques for practicing holding eye contact is as you're walking down the street,
look at people straight in the eyes.

And if someone calls you out for it, just say, "Oh, I thought you were somebody I know."

This gives you safety, and also enables you to practice holding eye contact with people.

And the more you do it, the more comfortable you'll feel with it.

Definitely try it, it helped me a lot.

No long is too long. You hold the eye contact until she looks away. But the whole eye thing isn't what to focus on: Talk to women, engage with them. Yes, eye contact is cool but it's not a deal breaker.

I have a fuck all time with this just walking down long hallways at work. If I lock in to early on their gaze, then I feel like I'm either staring them down the whole way, or that I'm breaking the gaze and being submissive.

What I'm learning to do is not commit to their gaze until they get close, then I make full on eye contact with intent and do not break it until they do or until they walk past. That works so much better and conveys confidence and isn't creepy.
