I don't do it. Never did. In my opinion it's stupid. I'm supposed to lay around doing literally nothing for 20 minutes and that's going to help me improve?
I've read about how it supposedly works, but I wouldn't pass it for more than placebo, at best. Similar to prayer.

You should try to meditate. There are a lot of mainstream ways to do it these days through guided meditation apps, but ultimately you will want to do mindfulness meditation without the guiding. It is very similar to lifting weights, in the sense that the development is slow and hardly noticeable day to day but hugely noticeable over months and years. There is growing body of research on mindfulness meditation specifically, so you can do some reading about the suspected benefits. There are some troubles with defining the terms and standardizing stuff, but I'm very confident it is not a placebo. And even if it were a placebo, that does not mean the real world impact on you is imaginary. So really, what is the difference?
