I'm happy and unhappy about the creation of this movie. The Pick up scene is great, it helps you as a man, to develop your own method of seduction, because there is NO guide to help you with women. With the rise of feminism, 40 years ago, two entire millenniums of mentality has been changed. Not only that, the dominant ideology tells you that women want more power, they want to be the leaders, but on the other hand, women also tell you that they want the charming prince. In contradiction, they also want a leader, a protector. All this confusing thoughts make the average guy frustrated. PUA scene bring back believes in women for guys in a certain way. Which is excellent.
BUT, PUA can be very pejorative (especially with feminists). I haven't discover pick up with The Game or any TV show, I have been doing researches in psycho-sociology and love relationship was one of my main interest, than I discovered Alain Soral (Sociologie d'un dragueur) and I dug the subject to the point to PUA. I watched many Mystery's seminar and read a lot about the subject. When I felt comfortable enough to practice my stuff with a good success rate, I was able to share the community with other guy, me being their mentor for free. THIS is a good way to share the community.
Doing a movie will expose the scene to immature people willing to copy anything on the web and making it awkward. We will start to see tic-tact-toe openers EVERYWHERE by example. The worst thing that could happen is that it becomes an mainstream movie, and girls makes bigger bitch-shield when they detect and PUA. Neil (Style) have probably good connection in the cinematographic world, but I don't think it would be a blockbuster by chance.

Sorry for the long post, I know, it's not even related to the actor guy.

for those reasons above stated...

You're right man I can see this going the wrong way. We saw what happened with Julien and the way pick up was "exposed" as some dirty secret cult that was to be shunned in society. Although it is good to spread the word of pick up and try to get as many people to actualize their best selfs, I'm worried a lot of people in fact the majority of the mainstream will take this th century wrong way. But I do love the fact that it is being brought to life by James Franco, he is a good choice and I will definetely be going to see it because of hisbcasting and to see Strauss on the big screen.

Hey guys!

I thought of posting on this, I believe, yesterday, but since I just saw this now, I see that it would probably not make any sense to post an entirely new thread on the same topic.

But since the last reply to this topic seemed to have been months ago, I'll be posting what I intended to post anyway.

I've just recently started reading "The Game" by Neil Strauss.

I love reading this thing. There is a kind of excitement I feel that I can't easily explain. I think it is perhaps the fact that the details are supposedly truth, yet Strauss seems to make them all sound as if they're from a fiction novel. It also comes across as sort of "quasi-philosophical", which I actually like.

Perhaps it's the "personal" tone of the writing. Emotions here and there flow constantly, making it a very enticing read. It isn't just a plain "narrative" or "report" of historical events. Descriptions and insight abound, giving it this "deep" feel. Furthermore, guys like Ross Jeffries, Mystery, etc. are people I only see in videos or read about. Well, used to. In the book, Strauss actually describes these people in person. And there's something really fantastic about how they are described. I feel as if they come straight out of a fantasy novel or something. Lol.

Anyways, enough about my "review".

I've read on the Internet that a movie based on "The Game" is supposedly under development. Any recent news on this? I also read that actor James Franco is starring on it.

For some reason I feel that I'd love to see this movie. I see that some seem apprehensive that "the game" will risk exposure to the general public, but come on? Sooner or later people will learn about these "tactics". It's all strange. Why should one rely on "secrecy" to become good with women? I also wonder about what would happen if a PUA approached a woman who knew about the PUA.

Personally, I hope that, should it be released, it would be turn out to be a good, insightful movie. I don't want it to be a "romantic comedy", because I don't think the book is. The book seems to be a serious take on real events that heavily changed a man. I'd want the movie to have the same intent.

What is nice about the book "The Game" is that it seems to be not just about picking up women, but a reflection on the act of picking up women. So, if the movie comes out, this perspective should intrigue the general public, in my opinion.

I can already imagine the smug-ness of "Mystery" or the sneer and jealousy of "Ross Jeffries" being portrayed on screen. The drama of the book, in my opinion, would make for an excellent motion picture, if done well.

What do you guys think?
