I live in Arkansas, broheim. I feel your pain when it comes to the heat, trust me. Sometimes it's a pain to look good, but everybody notices when you go to extra effort and put yourself through a little discomfort for the sake of being stylish.

I am of the opinion that fashion has become too casual over the last 20 or so years, so I am obviously biased toward a more adult look. That doesn't mean I don't wear my fair share of t-shirts (check out http://www.uneetee.com for some really cool ones) but 90% of the time I look like a young professional. Because I am one.

There's also location to consider. I'd never go to a bar wearing a suit, nor would I go to my office in a sleeveless t-shirt and basketball shorts. A good rule of thumb is to dress one step up from how everyone else is dressing. This will ensure you always look the sharpest out of everyone in the room and get the curiosity factor you're looking for out of women.

Your boy,

Guys have it easy. Nice, fitted jeans, and a nice t-shirt are just about all you need. Maybe a leather cuff or an earring to spice things up.

The advanced level might include a blazer or a leather jacket, maybe even a hat. And you can't go wrong with black vans.

OK, there is a lot of work to be done here so this post could get lengthy. I'll apologize in advance and make every attempt to keep it brief, but I sincerely hope you take what I say to heart.

First thing's first, you've GOT to get some clothes that fit. What you're wearing in these pictures is at least two sizes too big. Your shirts should fit snugly (but not painted-on tight) and the collar should leave only enough room for two fingers to fit between it and your neck.

Also, I believe it is the Esquire guide to style that says something along the lines of "There is a 100% chance the guy wearing a collared short sleeve shirt has been called a putz in the last 24 hours." If it's not a polo, it needs sleeves, period.

Now, you have a very prominent nose, which is exacerbated by your lack of hair up top. Shaving your head ala Neil Strauss will only make things worse. Outside of Rogaine, the best advice I can give you here is a hat of some kind. Maybe a fedora. Not really my style, but it might work for you.

Then there's jeans. From what I can see of yours, they're awful. Now I'm not telling you to go buy distressed denim or anything, since at your age it would look more try-hard than stylish, but you might want to consider something that looks less Wal-Mart-y. A couple pair of designer jeans such as Seven or Lucky will go a long way.

Or, if you want to go for a more formal look, try ditching jeans altogether and wearing slacks or khakis. The key to pants is that the inseam be correctly-fitted to your body (otherwise the ass looks weird) and the legs "break" properly over your shoes. You might want to Google around for a picture or something showing what I'm talking about since it's a little complicated to explain in text.

Socks should match the color of whatever pants you're wearing. Shoes and belt should match. A tie, if you wear one, should end at the top of your belt buckle. You should always wear a pocket square if you're wearing a blazer of any kind.

Which reminds me: shoes are the most important part of your outfit, and the first thing women notice. A quality pair of shoes says numerous good things about you, primarily that you pay close attention to detail, which is always attractive no matter who's counting. If you don't know how to tell a quality pair of shoes from a shitty one, read this site: http://kinowear.com/blog

That's all I have time for right now. Hope this helps :)

Your boy,

I really appreciate the tips. I am going to the mall later this week and buy a few new items of clothing. Since I am 32, does it make me seem like im trying to be a young guy walking around in rock shirts? Some say youre 32 dress like a MAN, others say dress fun and loosen up, and have fun...i get mixed responses there.

I have heard that short-sleeve shirt theory many times. Not trying to defend my dress, but where I am its friggin 95 degrees at the moment, walking in long sleeves is hard, lol. but I understand what youre saying, thank you
i try and have different styles in my wardrobe and dress for the occasion. and i like to use my peacock pieces to display my true peronality and style. does that make sense?

I would recommend finding a pair of glasses that are a bit stronger. They need to be a little more. Something no one mentioned, glasses will get you a lot of attention, after all they pull attention to your eyes. Glasses can represent a lot, and I think you are in need of a new pair. Find a cute optician and have her help you choose them, make sure she is honest though.

Hey man I don't want to insult you or anything but just be realistic with yourself, you're not good-looking. That being said, it's a good thing you're a man because looks don't mean shit for us. It's all about the status/confidence etc.

A few tips: if you're in your thirties, don't go casual. Suit the hell up. Seriously, suit up. Get a nice blazer and a nice shirt, some dark jeans and some dark shoes and you will look a lot better. You will look like a high status man, who's very busy with work and stuff and closes million dollar deals, you get my point.

Don't go casual. Good luck!

870 had some awesome advice...

i'll humbly add my 2cents:

ignore all the 'at your age' comments... 32 isn't old for a guy,
you're in the same dating pool as the 24yo's and 44yo's,
(it's called the zone, so enjoy and use your age to your advantage)
you can still do the distressed/dark/denim and rock shirts at any age
if you're confident in it.

if you go for pants/khaki's slacks whatever you do get flat front, not pleated,
and the belt n shoes should match...no 'sneakers' (brown with brown) etc.

the number one thing I can say would add weight to what you've got...
is some biceps....

best of luck!

Props for putting the Pictures up and wanting critique.

870's tips are on the money and should see you going, you appear to want to take this seriously, so I would suggest at least reading some mens fashion mags to get an understanding of fashion, dont blindly follow it just read it and look at stuff and see what catches your fancy, you need to do some ground work so that at whatever point you are in life you can put yourself together well.

I would start keeping yourself well groomed have some pride in yourself dont think of being a slob, also go to a hairdresser and discuss what can be done for the hair - it looks like you have your own clippers and just buzz cut that mofo!

Next your Glasses, they need to go, if your wearing those because you need varifocals you may want to look into wearing multifocal contact lenses. Or you can go down the route of wearing some trendy specs that dont clash with your clothes, with your face shape - long and narrow... I would look for geometric style frames that are both wide in length and narrow in height so to give the impression of having a wider face and pulling in the length back into line with it (yeah im an optician). I would wait until you have started to get your clothes and style and dress sense .... er centered before you do this and go buy ONE pair of specs from an optician or chances are they will lump you with some shitty metal frame for nerds. If they suit your new improved look thats half the battle won. Once you have an idea on frames... I know im gonna fucking hate myself for saying this lol... but once you have an idea of size and style hop on the internet sites ( theiving bastards lol) and you can pick up some really good shit cheap! which then gives you some choice. Id also suggest going for dark and striking frames with thick sides, make them and what they do for face the centre point, which will take away from the receeding hairline somewhat!

You actually have a very good frame and shoulders (why the fuck are you wearing baggy clothes???), you should seriously consider doing some simple free weights every night before bed or something, Bicep curls, latteral raises and dips and you would fill out pretty damn nicely - alot of guys would kill for broad shoulders like that as a basis to work upon.

Thats some advice from lil ole me! Hope it helps fella and good luck!

Yeah, I agree with the dont go casual part...

Unless of course, that is who you are. The worst thing you can do is to try to be something that you are not. Dress in somebody elses clothes.

However, I feel that I need to disagree about looks. It does matter even for a man.

Not as much as status, not nearly enough and you can get by without looks but it does help.

As a man you are being judged on every level (girls too). Physical appearance is important too. I mean, a fit body is hot. It shows that you are physically capable, you almost never need it nowadays but our sexual preferences and selection wasnt evolved nowadays. Well dressed, it shows that you think before you dress, you can afford to dress in whatever makes you feel good. It shows that your mind is that of a man who cares about himself and most likely about others.

Peace

Thats a big arse step up from the lower end photo's mate! nice one your getting there!

Nice to see some layering thats in at the moment! And I like those jeans too!

Id say maybe try a better contrast between the top shirt and the under t-shirt (like a plain white one)

What about belts and shoes? - what you going for there? (they are important) oh generalish rule of thumb - make sure they match even if you cant see the belt!

ah, yea I guess a belt was always the least of my concerns since ppl never really see it unless I tuck my shirt in, which I no longer do that. I will get a new belt. My shoes are black so I will get a nice trendy black belt.

My new shoes look better on me than they do by themselves in this pic, lol. Bit I love these shoes

nice choice on the shoes. shit kickers have stood the test of time for badass-ness

agree that the new style is way more fresh and hip than the first. i think the hair gotta be addressed. this is coming from someone that has always had thin hair my whole life. to the point i had to use rogaine. but if it got any worse, i know i'd have to make a decision. and i personally think u should shoot to shave it all off on top. let the goatee come out. thinkl neill strauss. i think u can pull off that look. it's kinda peach fuzzy on top, and i think going straight up bald on top would give u a more dapper and sharp look.

my 2 cents anyways

stix

Seriously Henning, those new pictures are a HUGE improvement. Now I see that dark colours suit you. The black shirt is great, it makes you look distinguished, and not nerdy at all. Keep this up, try to get some dark blazers, also go to the gym, being in shape is essential.

By the way, tucking a shirt in while wearing jeans doesn't look too good. If you want to tuck a shirt in while keeping it business casual wear dockers instead.
Yeah, I made that mistake before.

yeah take up a interesting hobby which promotes upper body muscle growth (like surfing etc) or just hit the gym! Like I said before gotta start loosing that skinny look and remember you have a very good set of shoulders from which to work from!

Like the shoes as well, cant go wrong there: Advice on shoes, religiously keep them well polished with proper polish not that liquid shite! And if you can - only wear specific leather shoes every other day the 2nd day is to let them 'breath'. If you follow these two simple rules which assists in keeping them in good condition your shoes leather will last ages!
