Neg her appearance next time, not her intelligence. You'll get more of a REACTION that way. Good or bad...reaction is a GOOD thing. Especially if she thinks shes in control by negging your appearance/style like that. If you wanna be nice, just neg her style, neg her dress, neg her shoes out. Up to you on the level/intensity of negging. Get ballsy. More than likely, she wont slap you in the face...and there are more than her and her school of fish in the sea right?

A similar harsh neg which I've closed with and has the desired effect... if a girl is taking herself very seriously and playing the part in front of her friends - basically being a shit can.

You look at her nose, rub your nose and drop a "I think you've got a bogga there"... she's go bright red and rub her nose... Then her friends will laugh hard - typically. Then you can drop a just joking. Start hitting on one of her friends... then come back to her later and appologise and offer to buy her a drink.

the way you describe it I cant really see how that could have been an IOI but I think she tried to blow you out. You feel she is trying to attack your status so you defend it and tool her. Of course she doesnt giggle because she looks uncool now. But you are cooler than her now with + from her friends so its all good. I dont like going too soft or nice here because she needs to be put in place.

I might be wrong.
