over negged!?

I was at a club on the weekend and this girl was wearing a killer shirt and i negged her on it. anyways it started a debate and all her friends were asking me opinions on there clothes how should I have handled this ?? i was just giving out ok complements but the target took it personal let me add im 21 and they were hb8 cougars

I don't think you over negged, but after slipping in the neg, you could have probably stacked to something else and changed the subject real quick to pull her back in and make the neg appear not so severe or damaging to her ego. Unsure how you used the neg, but I would imagine you said something along the lines of:

PUA: hey nice skirt, seems to be real popular these days. I just saw another girl wearing that earlier in this club.

HB: blah blah blah, really? Maybe slightly embarrassed or whatever.

Then maybe you could have followed that up with a bit of a complement saying that among all the ladies wearing that skirt/dress so far tonight, she looked the best in it so far, maybe:

PUA: Yeah, it may be common, but at least you make it look somewhat decent.

Then stack immediately to some other topic like:

Ex 1: So, how do you all know each other (since there are a bunch of HB8 cougars and you're gonna have to disarm them all as obstacles before you can DHV the target)
Ex 2: But, enough about fashion, I actually need to get a quick ladies opinion on something. And then roll to an opinion routine.
Ex 3: Anyway, since I have your attention....... then bust out some kind of trick or interesting thing to say

I've found negs to most effective when used like a whip. It's out and past so quick that the target has to take a few seconds to figure out what just happened. By the time she's had enough time to think about it, the conversation has already moved on.

I think this particular scenario points a bit more to a shit test than an over neg. When u do over neg, the target (or the group she is in) will want u to "get the fuck out of there faces" ... When someone asks for ur oppinion that means she still cares enough to hear your answers.

Probably what happned here is the cougars reacted to the neg by " lets see what this pup has got " and turned the pressure back on u. At that point u lost the frame.

Try not to give em the chance to play their games, or read some shit-test post on the forum , there are plenty nice ones around.

a) ignoring you in the hope that you'll go away
b) negging/insulting you non-stop in the hope that you'll go away

You could have used her taking it personally as an excuse to isolate her. I always try to use environmental disadvantages to my advantage e.g. someone insults my peacocking gear, I turn it into an opinion routine etc.
