My Thursday started as usual with the hellish thing we refer to as work. Though today was slightly different as I had planned to go the club again with my friend. Last week I had over come my AA on the dance floor, but still hadn't developed balls-enough to approach a set.
Thursday night rolls around, I get off work and head to my friend's house. We drive to the club, pay, and enter. The place is dead, and a sausage fest at that. A dead, meat-infested room. There were probably 4-5 guys for every female. I stood there scoping out the scene with my friend. We were chatting for a half hour and were approached by an eerily similar pair of guys. They were dressed similarly. Button down shirts, ties, nice shoes, and classy pants.
The taller of the two opened to my AFC friend, asking why he wasn't dancing with any of the hottest girls in the club. He then said 'you can pick up the most beautiful girl here tonight, do you know how?'. Overcome with excitement that I may have actually met another PUA. I say "Mystery Method" with a grin. He was baffled, and couldn't think of a response right away. The look on his face was a nearly indescribable combination of shock and excitement, as mine was. He asked me if I was familiar with PUA material. I said yes and we bullshitted about how too mainstream the scene had become.
I was impressed by his overwhelming self-confidence. Instantly out of the four of us, he was the AMOG. Not because we knew him, but because he portrait himself as such by continuously handing out tidbits of advice that I was already familiar with. I was impressed when he opened a set with 2 HB9s and their male friend, and held their interest for the better part of 5 min.
After continued bullshitting, and me getting rejected on the dance floor twice(In my defense; it's not normal game, your one-line opener is your one-line closer; and rejection is only 5% you, and 95% circumstance) we decided to leave the dry dead sausage fest, and get up some dinner.
Before leaving, we found our new friends and invited them along with us. They declined but forced me to open a set before I left. This was it, my first set in a setting like this. I am 3 for 3 as far as picking up my friends friends; however I've never attempted a real 'set'.
I approached the two girls with an opener I doubted. He had used it on his set, and told me I should try it. I doubted it would work, but I was amazed. A simple statement and question intrigued her and held her attention. I was in. I opened the set successfully, talked to the target for a few min. I wanted to open to the target's friend, but unfortunatly she was passed out on the chair. Also, unfortunately my PUA friends sent over my AFC friend to pick up this now-passed out girl. I took that as an opportunity to abandon the set. I should have pressed on, I could have probably closed it; but given the circumstance. I was happy I overcame my AA, and it felt good. I felt in control; and I liked it.
I won't post the opener, names of my new friends, specific club name, etc.
I do have respect for everyone here, and I don't feel comfortable sharing. Though I will tell you it was south of Chicago. So if you're ever around give me a holler.
