Hey guys, after sarging a bit and talking to a few ladies I realize that sometimes my conversations lag a little or fall into a boring topic. To help this, I've developed an exercise I'm going to do. I have a lot of interesting stuff to talk about but somehow I miss most of it when chatting, so I need a way to keep topic at reach always. Basically, I'm going to write down interesting topics, and review them from time to time just to help keep these ideas fresh in my mind. I'll also write down stories and questions relating to the topic, as well as ways to introduce the topic into conversation. Anyways, here's an example:

Topic: Friends
Stories: Crazy competitions I have with my best friend; Missing friends in FL.
Questions: "How are your friends like?" "Who's your best friend?" "What makes a good friend?" "Do you still keep in touch with any of you childhood friends?"
Introductory Statement: "That totally reminds me of my friends." "Yeah, I was just talking to an old friend of mines today…" "Dude, I have so much fun with my friends."(After mentioning something about having fun.)

So I'm going to compile a solid list of these—not too many since I want to be able to review them—any of you guys having conversational problems may want to do this too. I'll probably post more of my list later, feel free to post yours.

Peace,
newton

you know what? i like the idea =). i personally don't need help with keeping a conversation going but i'm sure there are a lot of people that do. not too long ago i was in this same situation. it wasn't that i was forgetting my "material", not having any good stories to tell, or any good questions to ask, but i was too focused on entertaining my friends or impressing new acquaintances. what i've found works best, was that in my head i learned NOT to think about anything. the alphaness in me that i forced out basically made me not care about what anyone thought. all of a sudden i was negging, dhving all the time... you name it.

staying alpha allowed me to focus on observing the situation rather than wondering what they thought about me. for some reason i always felt like i knew what they were thinking anyway (the alpha attitude) and that made things extremely easy. i would focus my attention on what is actual going on in the set (such as who has higher value, who the AMOG's are and what they are doing, how to get from A3 to C1, etc...) rather than what is being said.

i think it's a great theory starting out but you can't do that for the rest of your life. when you find yourself improvising on the spot, you'll probably be fine to take off your "training wheels" and just flow with things. you don't have to always come up with something to say, i would want a women who is conversing back to me anyway. so if they don't have something to say... i generally lose interest.

just don't rely on this too much, otherwise you're goin to find yourself repeating the same stories/questions over and over again, possibly to the same people. if you see a can of soda, you can probably find a millions things to talk about with it... maybe something as random as throwing it at bums, or maybe a simple question such as "how do they recycle aluminum cans"... whatever comes to mind, where ever you want to lead the conversation =)

there's my 2 cents...

We used to play this game when I was in school where you were given a topic, and you had to talk about it for 1 minute without a long pause, or saying ummm e.c.t.

I guess that could help too.
