One thing that I have gotten in the habbit of doing, and I usually do this once I have isolated the target, but not always, is compliment one thing about her, be it her hair, her outfit, a piece of jewlery, something that I notice that stands out and that she probably put a lot of thought into. I like to interupt her in mid sentence, just to say that this looks nice, or I like that, because, as all of you probably know, girls put a LOT of time into what they where when they go anywhere, and they like it a lot when guys notice, because its rare. I know a lot of you guys will disagree with me on this because it goes against like every teaching out there, but girls are actually impressed when you notice the little things, and they love it. Only do it once though, and interupt her, this way it redirects all of her concentration onto what you are saying, and when you compliment her, you are not only making her feel better by complimenting her, but also setting yourself apart from the other guys by noticing a small little thing that no other guy did, but that she put a lot of effort into. Say what you will about this, I know I'll probably get some heat for sayin this, but it works if you do it right.

I think there is a time and a place for compliments. Usually in C1 and C2. Since we have to have very tight control of compliments and they have to be used so sparingly it helps to have a good plan for compliments. If you have to use them they need to be effective and well placed. Good points.

Raykast is right... I think it's fine to used controlled compliments in the comfort phase. Also I'd would say there are 2 other scenario's where complimenting is acceptable before the comfort stage. When a girl see's you as much higher value then herself (can happen with "ugly duckling types"), or in what I like to call the Neg Yin/Yang = Negs/Kino-Compliments if you over Neg (DLV) Kino (connection/comfort) and compliment (DHV) to help balance it out.
